Of the members of the FHS XC team that crossed the finish line, none were more exciting than Bryce Coffey and Karly Keller's finishes. As they approached the finish line in their respective races, both Coffey and Keller were competing in races within the race. Coffey edged out 3 runners just before crossing the finish line to finish 3rd overall on 9/12/18, as Pusch Ridge hosted their meet on their school's campus. Keller was in a footrace during the last 100m of the girls race, finishing just ahead of the runner from Canyon Del Oro High School. Keller's final kick earned her a 9th place overall finish. Coffey finished with a time of 20:16, and Keller finished in 27:57.
Ronaldo Martinez put together another solid performance. Martinez's 19:32 time earned him a 2nd place overall finish. Caleb Jones also ran a solid race, finishing 7th overall with a time of 20:27. Arial Acosta (FR) continued to shave time off her race, finishing 17th overall (32:09). Newcomer to the cross country team, Francisco Reyes (JR) competed in his first-ever cross country race, recording a time of 26:08.
