New PR's at Desert Twilight


The course at Grande Sports World provided FHS Cross Country with the perfect opportunity to set some new personal records. Of the several runners who recorded new personal records at Desert Twilight on 9/28/18, Cory Smith (SR) and Ryan Leopard (JR) made the largest improvements. Smith shaved nearly 5 minutes off his 5K race time, finishing in 22:55, while Leopard dropped over 6 minutes off his time with his 23:31 finish.

Carson Rowley (SR) finished 9 seconds faster than his previously recorded season best time with his 22:32 finish. This race also allowed Rowley to set a new PR as well. Ricky Valles (SR), Karly Keller (JR), and McKenna Mullen (FR) also set new PR's with their 33:27, 25: 48, and 29:08 finishes.

Caleb Jones (SR) competed in the Small School Open Race and finished 19th of 326 runners. Jones earned a medal for his efforts with his 18:59 finishing time. Bryce Coffey (SO) set a new PR with his 18:34 time as he edged out Ronaldo Martinez (SR) by 1 second. Martinez's 18:35 finish was his fastest time of this season.

Jesus Campillo (SR) set his season's best with his 30:45 finish. Brianna Filipow (FR) finished in 37:00, and Salynger Peterson (FR) finished in 37:02.
